About Me

I founded Green Tape Advocacy with a simple vision in mind: to combine my extensive background working in client advocacy and systems navigation with my personal calling for helping others to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. As a practicing social worker in British Columbia since 1983, I have worked in a variety of professional settings, ranging from hospital-based acute care to inpatient and community-based physical rehabilitation programs for both adults and children. It was working in these various roles that sparked my passion for advocacy.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of British Columbia in 1980, and later went on to complete a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of British Columbia in 1983 and Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Toronto in 1988. I am currently registered with the British Columbia College of Social Workers and a member of the BC Association of Social Workers (BCASW).

My mission is to empower clients by equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to become strong and knowledgeable advocates, whether for themselves or for others. I strongly believe in helping people overcome barriers by supporting them to reach their full potential, while also providing a foundation of support to promote personal advocacy skills development for long-term success.
